The vessel operator must record the day's fishing activity within 24 hours of the conclusion of the fishing day. When the vessel operator has entered a day's fishing activity and indicates a desire to conclude the data entry session, the e-logbook program will present the signing ceremony, which may look something like this:

The vessel operator completes an e-signature by typing his/her name in the box and pressing the Electronically Sign button, at which point the e-logbook program records the e-signature and concludes the data entry session.
