Processing your Return Receipt
1. Generally, you should receive a return receipt within 5 minutes after emailing your transmission file. However, occasionally it may take hours to receive receipts if the mail processor is not working efficiently. If you still have not received a receipt by the end of the day, please contact NMFS staff.
2. After 5-10 minutes have passed, you should have received an email with an attachment, subject eLandings Report Return Receipt. Right click the attachment (named something like e76480_transmit_20081031_100848_reply.zip) and
select Save As and save it in the directory C:\Program Files\seaLandings\transmissions.
3. Open seaLandings and log in.
4. Select Reporting...Process Return Receipt.
5. A dialog box will open to your transmission folder.
6. Highlight the zip file you just saved and select Open. Select Process File...Click Done.
7. You must process return receipts before you make any changes to your reports.
8. If changes need to be made to your report after you've already transmitted them to elecrep@noaa.gov, process your return receipt first. Then, reopen your report and make changes. Save the changes and transmit a second file to elecrep@noaa.gov. If you try to process the same receipt more than once, seaLandings will give you an error message that states that "This receipt has already been processed..."
Return receipts need to be processed in the same order that they are transmitted. Changes cannot be made to reports until return receipts are first processed.
If you have any questions about your data, email elandings@alaska or suja.hall@noaa.gov instead of elecrep@noaa.gov.
Elecrep email is not monitored by staff for non-eLandings files.
TIME-SAVER: Another method for processing receipts is to drag and drop receipts from emails to your desktop, then to your open seaLandings window. With your email open, drag your receipt from your email to your desktop.
Then drag your receipt from your desktop to your open seaLandings window. Make sure all dialog boxes in seaLandings are closed first.
Then click on the Process File button and your receipt will be processed. Click OK. Your receipt will disappear from your desktop after it is dragged to and processed by your seaLandings program.
You will receive an error message if you attempt to drag your receipt from your email to seaLandings directly. The receipt must be dragged first to your desktop, and then to your seaLandings program.
