Create Operations

To add a new parent operation, select the appropriate operation type from Edit menu on the Operations and Users main page.

You will need to add the following information:

  • Operation Name - the name that identifies the operation. This is a required field and has a maximum length of 32 characters.
  • ADF&G Processor Code - the processor code (intent to operate license), sometimes called the F-code , is usually required.
  • Federal Permit Number - the Federal Processor Permit (FPP) for shoreside plants or Federal Fisheries Permit (FFP) for at-sea processors. This is required if receiving or processing Federally managed groundfish or CR crab.
  • Registered Buyer Number - the registered buyer permit number for IFQ Sablefish and Halibut. This is not required if no IFQ groundfish will be received or processed.
  • RCR Number - the registered crab receiver permit number is required for CR crab.
  • Vessel ADF&G Number - only required if you are an at-sea catcher processor.
  • Port- the port location of the operation.
    • For at-sea catcher processors enter FCP
    • If acting as a mothership enter FLD
    • If you are a stationary floating processor enter IFP
    • For catcher/sellers enter your home port, this can be changed at the time of landing if selling in different location

The Add Dialog will appear (depending on the operation type selected above).

  • Enter Name and Proc Code (required).
  • Enter other information that you may have.
  • Click the Save Button to create the new operation.

You will be associated to the operation as the creator. This can be changed later depending on the needs of the organization.

The new operation will be created and will show up in the tree hierarchy.

  • To enable the operation you will need to print, sign, and fax the new operation registration form to NMFS.
  • The form can be found by clicking the Edit menu to the top/left of the screen and selecting the newly enabled  Print Registration menu item.

Until an agency staff person enables the operation, it will remain in pending status.

Edit Operations

To Edit or Add a Tender to an operation select that operation from the results list at the bottom of the page.

Make sure that the operation that you want to edit is selected, the selected operation will appear highlighted in blue (ex. TOADS).  You may have to drill down into the tree by clicking on the arrows (circled on the screenshot) to get the operation you want. Click on the drop down at the upper right of the screen and select Edit.

The Edit Operation popup will be shown. The greyed out options cannot be changed here, but the rest of the information may be edited as necessary.

Database Effects from Editing an Operation

When editing an operation the database will track the changes that happen. In effect a new database record will be created to mark the change that occurred, the original state and time of change are both recorded.

Ex. Change the Port of the TOADS Buying Station.

The TOADS Buying Station (BS) was created with a Port of DUT - Dutch Harbor/Unalaska.

The database record for this operation consists of one line since there haven't been any edits to the BS since it's creation.

Change the Port from DUT - Dutch Harbor/Unalaska to DIL - Dillingham and click 'Save', the change will then be reflected in the database.

Carefully note the 'Effectivity Date' and 'Effectivity End Date' of the original and new records. As you can see the reflect they change and allow us to recreate the action. The new change comes with it's own 'Effectivity Date' and as you can see the 'Effectivity End Date' of the new record is NULL indicating there is no expiration.

Additionally, you will see the new Port on the operation record and the 'Operation Successfully Updated' message in the eLandings system as well.
