Landing Details Queries

This page contains step-by-step guidance for the most common queries in the Landing Details by... menu and their function. This information is primarily intended for Agency staff who....

The Landing Details queries display the statistical areas for all records that meet the criteria and map the statistical area to the appropriate management area and district.  These are defined reports that allow you to set the criteria - and that criteria is based upon a time frame and a characteristic, such as, Processor Code – F code, ADF&G Vessel number, CFEC fishery, like B06B, Port of landing or by statistical area.

Processor Code

              ADF&G Vessel Number

              CFEC Fishery Permit

              Port

              Statistical Area

Detail queries allow you to set the desired date range, within the limitations of 1000 records, and the characteristic.  In some cases, it also asked you to limit the query to specific fisheries – salmon, groundfish, or crab.

When you click on the Run button an Execute Query dialog box opens and allows you to establish your criteria.  To add the parameter, click into the box and add the value, such as date in a mm/dd/yyyy format.

Please remember that all queries are limited to 1000 records.  If you create criteria that would return more than 1000 records, you will receive a warning message to limit your criteria.

The Agency Interface will return a CSV file called results.csv. Either open it from the downloads bar or navigate to the Downloads folder to open the file.

This is an example of a landing details report, detailing one vessels activity over a specific time frame.

Let’s look at a detailed report by Processor Code, commonly referred to as an F-code.

Previously you had to include the "F" as part of the code, now just the numerical part of the code is needed for results. You well get an error if you try to include the alphabetical component of the code.

I mentioned that the detailed reports display the statistical area and translations to regulatory and management areas, as well as districts.

These translations relate to the statistical area and must be referenced to the specific fishery or species.  The example displayed below shows all the possible translations for each statistical area to various fishery management areas – such as the Federal Reporting Area for groundfish, and the ADF&G Region, and the King Crab Management Area, as well as the district.  All possible translations are returned and you determine the appropriate area, given your information needs.

Below is the dialog box for a Landing Detail report.  You do NOT need to fill in all the fields, but you will need to choose the fishery.  The gear field is optional and you can set criteria for one or more port codes by clicking on the Add Port icon.  Please reference the Port Codes found on the eLandings Fisheries Code sheet (laminated) for a complete list of all port codes.

Select a Port and Port Code from the drop down list.

After you've completed selecting all the required criteria use the Execute Button to generate your results.

A port code report will return results on all landings that meet the criteria set, in this case the port of Ketchikan.

The CFEC Fishery Landings Detail report allows you to set criteria with multiple CFEC Fishery Permits.  A fishery permit is the leading alpha/numeric four characters of the full CFEC permit.  Examples of CFEC Fishery Permits are B06B, S01K, T9BK, T91K, D09J, etc.

Again, you do not need to add species or gear, but you may narrow your criteria with these filters, if you choose.

Just as a reminder, all Landings Detail reports provide you with the appropriate statistical area translation for the fishery and the species.
