Exercise 1:

Starting information for Exercise

  1. I have two office and a HQ and all three are located in three different location. Such as: HQ in Seattle,  office 1 in Juneau, and office 2 in Perryville. I have 4 boat at each office location, but not at HQ. This will make for a total of 8 boats that will be using tLandings.

  2. Each office will have PTI user and a back up user. At a given office I could have two setup. Either Each user computer is set up with PTI our I have setup up PTI on one computer with one user account that both user can log in to. Your company may have internal policy could impact this choice.

    1. This exercise will have PTI on the user computer. 2 computer at an office for a total of 4 computer at the two office.

Starting devices calculations (assuming no starting computer) Not counting the computer needs at HQ

Office:

  1. Two computer per office for a total of 4 computer.

    1. Each computer must be able to run java. So we will by 1 desktop, 1 laptop, and one 2 in 1 tablet. All of these will be running Window 10 pro 64 bit operating system. Note this make for one extra computer.

  2. Printer

  3. Thumb drives to give to boat(s) We suggest small type that are harder to hit.

Boat:

  1. For this exercise I’m picking the surface Pro 7. (it has window, touch screen, two USB (USB-Ctm and USB-A) because it doesn’t have a case we will need to buy some.

  2. Thumb drive that were provided by the office. This will most likely take the USB-A on the Surface Pro.

  3. A wireless printer (wireless could mean more than one things so be careful here) I’m going with the Cannon iP110 (It generate its own Wi-Fi) with this now our device must be about to uses Wi-Fi.

    1. Printer as been set up in a safe location on the boat and the surface Pro 7 has already been configured to it.

  4. Magstripe reader you have two opinions here wire or wireless.

    1. Wire: you will take the other USB-Ctm spot on the surface pro.

      1. We want a short cord so it doesn’t get in the way.

      2. For this exercise make sure the magstripe has the USB-Ctm for the surface pro.

    2. Wireless:

      1. Cast more

      2. Got to worry about batterie life or charging the device

  5. Case for the surface pro

    1. I’m think a hand strap option for holding onto it

    2. Maybe even a long strap option
